We are celebrating Thanksgiving here in Canada this weekend. While not a huge a celebration as in other countries, it has been recognized officially as a fall harvest celebration. We are having the family over (the ones that are in town), so will have 9 at the table tonight.
Turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, carrots, corn, bean salad, and a pumpkin cake with pecan topping are on the menu.
It is just 1:15 in the afternoon, everything is prepped and table set. I will soon turn the oven on and go for a nice walk with the dog and come home to the smell of turkey roasting.
I do love fall afternoons, and the comfort of a warm house and a roast cooking.
I understand there is the start of a fall school break (we don't have that here) so many families have the opportunity to visit one another. I hope you can all celebrate the harvest in your own ways.

Happy thanksgiving. Lovely to be reminded of it. My dearest friend from school days lived in Canada for over fifty years. She often described their thanksgiving dinners with family, friends and neighbours. Sadly she died suddenly four years ago. Your post brought back happy memories of her. Thank you.
