In response to Teatime 's desire for more light-hearted threads, I am wondering which of you might have been in uniform as part of your job?
I was an air stewardess in the 1960's with a major airline.
The uniform initially was a smart navy suit with lots of gold embelishments and of course a jaunty hat based on the RAF design.
In the late sixties Sir Hardy Amies was brought in to modernise the look and we were thrilled to see the new uniform was a lovely sky blue.
The hat was more stylish and left behind the old RAF look. The coat was scarlet and very good quality. We had three uniforms to rotate/dry clean.
In the cabin we wore pinafores called coveralls which protected our pristine white blouses from spills etc.
I always loved the uniform which I wore with pride.
Now, tell me about your work uniforms. I can't wait!
Anyone heard Richard Tice’s anti climate change latest ?
