Tea and toast

Buttered crumpets or a tin of rice pudding.

Heinz tomato soup with a cheese sandwich.

Fish, chips and mushy peas, piping hot.

Fish finger sandwich

Cheese on toast

Cheese and pickle.

Pasty and beans

Rice pudding made in the microwave.

Thick beef stew with lots of mashed potato and a lump of butter melting in the middle of the potato.

Or suet dumplings with onion and crispy bacon in them served with a good beef gravy.

Or anything else really which is savoury and very fattening.

Pasta boiled with a chicken stock cube, and loads of grated cheese on top.

Cheese on toast, topped with pickled beetroot.

Freshly made drop scones spread thickly with butter.

Home made vegetable chilli with garlic bannock - yum!

All of the above are starchy, just right for a drizzly day.

Baked potato with LOTS of butter!

Ham broth with crusty bread.

Or, anything which involves lots of cheese.

Shepherd's pie with pickled red cabbage.

Chocolate

I'm having sausage and mash tonight. But I think my favourite comfort food is a hotpot - which I shall be having on Saturday when I come back from the rugby.

Buttered toast with marmite. Mmmmmm
