Carers allowance

Hi I was wondering if anyone has recently applied for carers allowance and knows how long it takes to process I applied 5 weeks ago and not heard anything thank you

Hi Suziemarie.
It shouldn`t take more than six weeks.
If it goes over that time phone them and ask if it`s going to be back dated too.

When I applied on behalf of my H for AA it did say you will hear in 6 weeks but it was backdated to the time I asked for the form.
My friend who has applied for a blue badge has been waiting for several weeks.
There may be a backlog of applications but I would ring and check to make sure it is being dealt with.

It used to be back dated to the date of application but this may have changed.
