We saw Riverdance , when it was at Hammersmith, I think, and DH bought the tickets with a win he had had on the Lottery. Brilliant show.

Riverdance seen live is so much better than on TV or video.

Kupri well done and I am sure you will enjoy the adventure of getting there and then seeing Riverdance. I saw it about 2 or 3 years ago in Bristol. I don't go often to shows but I did make a point of going to this one and I was not disappointed. Go early and treat yourself to some lunch as well and leave Mr Kupri to get his own.

If you start striking out on your own you never know he might feel he is missing out and start to join you.

I remember seeing Lord of the Dance years ago in Manchester. Brilliant !

I’m with you 100% Kupari. I admire women who do their own thing, just as I do. When I mention to DH a film I want to see and he shows little interest I say ‘Don’t worry I am fine going on my own’. I think being independent is so important as one never knows what the future will bring.

I did something similar a few weeks ago and took myself off to the cinema to watch the release of Downton Abbey it opened on my birthday so like you I treated my self to two hours of self indulgence. Enjoy.

Good for you. Have a lovely time. I desperately wanted to see Michael Bublé live. My DH said 'No way. Too expensive, too far to go etc'. He relented and we got amazing seats. I could have reached out and touched Michael. I restrained myself. What a show and DH loved it.

Good for you! I had to decide a long time ago that there were some things I either had to do on my own or with friends, but were not DH's cup of tea. When money was tight, it felt like an indulgence, so I would use gift money, and found that if I went on my own (I could get to London on the train easily back then) I could often get a ticket at 'sold out' performances.
We do go to some concerts together, but I still go to some things on my own, and I don't have to think about anyone else.

I loved Riverdance when I saw it many many years ago in Ipswich I do go to shows and cinema on my own if no one wants or is interested
I m going on Tuesday to see a showing of Gauguin none of my friends are very into art and I am so, that’s fine I saw Lowry on my own too but equally I m off to see Judy with my friend
I d rather go alone than with someone not really wanting to be there
The only thing I can do alone is walk into a pub

Oh well done. My husband and I go to the theatre in London about six times a year which we both really enjoy. However, it is always a play because DH "can't be doing with musicals". You have inspired me to book 'Singin' in the Rain' next summer and go by myself. X

I've gone to gigs and festivals on my own for years as our musical tastes are poles apart - you usually find someone to talk to while you're there.

Yes I went to Downton Abbey on my own as Mr B didn't want to go, he had a cold. Say no more.

I feel that doing something on your own makes you feel really good about your self and empowering. Recently went out with 3 unknown older men on a cycle ride, which was hard, but I did feel good afterwards.

I used to do my own thing, without any objections.
