This is not a thread about a thread but...

No it's not just you Gonegirl I too have other things to worry about and just watch from the sidelines re all things Brexit related. I think some posters get a kick out of "sensationalising" their posts to get a reaction, which always works on the politics threads.

I am not in the UK at the moment and realise that other parts of the world have immediate and genuine worries which are not nebulous 'what ifs'.

I am worried on behalf of others. Basically, I'm alright Jack.

Not sure about the word 'afraid' but I am genuinely concerned for all those who will be harmed by it. We will be OK and we are currently making a profit on our US shares because of the fall of the £ but what about those who couldn't afford to feed their children in the school holidays? What about those worried they will lose their jobs? In very simplistic terms if the £ only buys 75% of what it did it must be harmful to UK.

Sometimes I wish I wasn't a news junkie and that I didn't worry about people I don't know. On balance I think I prefer to be me.

I'm with you. What will happen, will happen. Worrying never changed anything.

I can't say I'm worried myself, although it is a worrying situation. There are people for whom it is more of a problem and I have sympathy for them.

I'm sure that, what ever happens, we ordinary folk will muddle through and cope.

It's the state of Parliament and all the in-fighting that's embarrassing. Thank goodness most of the work of running the country is done by the civil service! Belgium was without a proper government for, I think, 3 years but is still functioning.

I'm sick of hearing about it all. What will happen is beyond the control of us little people, so there's no point in worrying about any of it.

I've got other things, other people, to think about.

I think Nonnie has hit the issue on the head - while not being worried about our own situation, I feel it's a bit selfish to be happy in our bubble and not be concerned about the population as a whole.

I'm more worried about what's not being done due to endless faffing about of brexit.

I’m concerned, but not worried. I don’t want to talk about it, think about it, or watch the news.

I've got too many worries of my own to think about Brexit. My DH has the news on constantly (fortunately we have two TVs). I never think about Brexit and have said to DH that I'm not interested. He says 'well you should be. We have a granddaughter'. He's right I suppose but I can't be bothered.

The world will keep turning. We have a son in law with incurable cancer, it has rather put everything in perspective.

So sorry to hear that Joanna and for the crass comment that followed. A friend once said that any other difficulties in life (unfaithful OH amongst other things in her life) will eventually fade into a distant memory but you can’t escape from cancer. It’s the first thing on your mind when you wake up and the last thing at night when you go bed. Watching your family going through this must be horrendous. Sending you a virtual hug. ((((((()))))))

I'm just bored rigid by it all after three years. The 'doom and gloom' brigade are revelling in it, of course. I'm a little concerned by other people's sincere worry (particularly about the availability of medicines) but it's not as if we're at war.

Of course, the Brexit shambles makes a wonderful smokescreen for other concerns. The real hidden enemy is the consequences of our environmental neglect. What a mess to leave to our grandchildren!
