I have received a letter from AXA PPP Healthcare offering me membership of a Fast Track Appointments service if referred to a private hospital by NHS. The cost is only £85 per month (for a 55 year old - would probably be much more for me as I am now 70!), as an incentive they are offering a free gift of 12 bottles of wine! Think I will keep my money and buy my own wine

Healthcare offering 12 bottles of wine ? One thing's laughing at another here.

Why would anyone pay for private health care, when we have the best health care system in the world. We are the envy of all ......you can see your GP almost immediately. If they can't fit you in, the GP will call you with advice or leave a prescription for you. If it's a suspicious condition, you will be referred immediately and seen within 2 weeks or sooner if necessary.

For that price I have a feeling you would have the choice of second rate private hospitals.
