Happy news!

Our DD, our 4th child, was the first girl for generations on DH's side. Be careful that she doesn't get bombarded with girlie stuff. I counted 21 frilly dresses at one time!
Now we have 5 DGD and only 2 boys so the balance is redressed. And they are all wonderful.

Great news for the family - congratulations !!

Congratulations I posted a similar thread on Relationships. We broke the chain of boys to girls after 68 years. It’s lovely And so are the boys xx

My daughter, after giving up on becoming a mum as she is 45, is now pregnant with a boy!

To be honest we really didn't mind if it was a boy or girl as he is our first grandchild!!

A friend's DD is expecting number 2 and she is 48. I guess years ago women had children until they hit the menopause. Gt grandma had 12 between the ages of 18 and 45 and lived to celebrate her diamond wedding and until she was 92. We had a big family reunion recently that's how I know.

How wonderful. This will be our fourth grandchild. And being grandparents is the best job in the world..

The baby is due in August. To all the mums and dads and grandparents out there we have the best jobs. ?

Thank you so much for all your good wishes after I posted my wonderful news about my daughter having her first baby at 45. The baby is due on 30 May but they won't let her go over this date because of her age.
My daughter is not the only one who can't believe that she is about to become a mum.........I can't believe it either.
When you wake up in the morning you never know what surprises the day is going to bring and the day she called to say she was popping in and arrived with her partner to tell us the amazing news is a day I will never forget.

DanniRae I am SO very pleased for you all and agree, being a grandma is, next to being a Mum, the best job.

My first grand-child is now almost 26 and we are very close, even though she's currently half a world away.

I also have a lovely grandson of nearly 10 (the child of my son's partner - not his child) and I also love having him around. I've known him since he was 5 and we have such fun doing crafts and cooking and having pillow fights and treasure hunts - it's bliss being with children isn't it?
