RIP Scott. Thank you for the great songs.

Oh, that is sad! He was one of my first crushes. His voice was unique.

KatyK Mon 25-Mar-19 09:13:58

Mine too kitty but as I recall, I liked John more. Georgeous boys.

He was lovely, wasn't he, with a great voice. 'The Sun ain't Gonna Shine Anymore' was a favourite of mine.

Oh that is So sad. I loved his honey voice (and him) singing Joanna.

Alima Mon 25-Mar-19 09:33:21

Beautiful man with a beautiful voice. RIP.

I loved his voice. I remember listening to his album of Jaques Brel songs in the sixth form common room, and learning all the words to “Ne me quitte pas.” ( Not pretentious at all!)

I loved Scott Walker. Such a distinctive voice. One of my favourites.

I loved The Sun ain't Gonna Shine Anymore and even used to use a quote from it as a password ! It was used in Truly Madly Deeply - wonderful . Oh dear , sad .

So sad to hear this. Totally reinvented himself and was so respected by fellow musicians.

sodapop Mon 25-Mar-19 10:12:39

Yes one of my favourite singers too. Such a wonderful sexy voice.
RIP Scott.

DH used to like The Walker Bros, I never liked his voice, don’t know why, it’s just one of those things. Mel Torme was another I didn’t like. Sorry to all fans.

Anniebach Mon 25-Mar-19 10:18:04

ninathenana Mon 25-Mar-19 11:16:53

lovebeige I now have that as an ear worm smile

Very sad news. I idolised him back in the 60s, and was lucky enough to see the Walker Brothers at the Hammersmith Odeon when they were the support act to Roy Orbison, although, by then they were the stars.
Such a wonderful voice, and looks to die for.
RIP Scott.

EllanVannin Mon 25-Mar-19 13:04:49

You've Lost that Loving Feeling-----my favourite. RIP Scott.

So sad, a wonderful voice. Like others on here, my teenage crush. I’ve never grown out of it and my I pod is full of his music.
I saw The Walker Bros in the 60’s at the Harrow Grenada. I can still remember that evening.
I’m spending today listening to his music through Alexa. Later I’ll rewatch the BBC prom dedicated to him. ?

Labaik Mon 25-Mar-19 18:52:53

That prom was wonderful. I have to admit to reverting back to my teenage years and having a pang of jealousy when it said on the news that he was survived by his partner.....I still want him all to myself!

kittylester Tue 26-Mar-19 13:10:09

I think it was the Righteous brothers who recorded You've Lost That Loving Feeling, Ellan.
