I appear to have purchased magic wardrobes!!!

Explanation- all beloved summer clothes seem to have shrunk since they were put away last autumn and consequently do not fit!!!!

I wonder if any other gransnetters have purchased one of these unintentionally??

Me too. I innocently put last years summer clothes away in mine, and not only have they shrunk, but also managed to look a little dated !

Having now moved into full on panic mode due to impending holiday, cannot stretch clothes / loose weight in 2 weeks Ooooh!!!!

Trawling online shops, I have s feeling that this will not end well!!!!

Chocolate used to shrink my clothes but gastritis made them too big, can’t win!

I've had problematic wardrobes for years.
They seem to shrink everything that goes into them.
Totally unacceptable!

I blame the boxes under the bed where I store my seasonal clothes - it doesn't matter which season it is the box has worked it's wicked magic and shrunk the contents.

Indeed, and that magic mirror doesn't help either. There's a jowly old hag looking back at me.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 05-Mar-19 13:59:28

I wouldn't mind looking in the mirror and seeing my Mum as she was beautiful, unfortunately I look in the mirror and I see my Grandfather!!

Come and join us on I’m a Pear thread. We are all losing weight slowly and surely with an odd binge ?

Maybelle Tue 05-Mar-19 14:51:32

So the jowly old hag spends time appearing in your mirror as well lovebiegecardigands !
I wondered where else she went to as my DDs have never seen her in the mirror here .

Yup, it's a known effect of wardrobes : when you hang clothes up, the effect of gravity elongates them and makes them longer and thinner. So the we get the totally misleading impression that as we get older we are getting fatter and losing a little in height, but it's all an illusion.

Now I need to find an explanation for what happens to folded items like tee-shirts.

MissAdventure Tue 05-Mar-19 16:00:26

grin
Very good and sensible explanation, grannyticktock.

I'm hoping grin for a lovely new summer wardrobe this year ... had some undeserved unintentional weight loss which turned out to be diabetes. Now eating a much healthier diet so hopefully new clothes beckon! smile

Hadn't realised it was the Magic wardrobes!

I have been blaming the washing machine and some additive they now put in the washing sachets.

As for the hag in the mirror
Well I blame Specsavers, when I remove the Specs my reflection is always least 10yrs youngersmile

I thought you were in the Caribbean GG? Confused now, unless there are 2 gravies and/or I need specsavers.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 05-Mar-19 21:44:33

No I am off to Caribbean this month, just having a rather large pre-holiday panic!!!

MrGG13 might keel over if their were two of us.....
