It's lovely isn't it Craftycat. I am also in the south east, but I think virtually the whole country is enjoying this wonderful weather.

You mentioned seeing a butterfly - I spotted a big bumblebee buzzing round a bush under my kitchen window today!

I’m sat in the garden with my lunch , I’ve even put a dress on, thought a bit of Vit D can’t be bad. It’s almost too warm to sit here ?? but I’ve worked hard this morning gym and two trips to the recycle centre so I deserve a rest.

Well, we have a cloudless blue sky yet again, but it does not belie the fact that it is a tad on the cool side. I am desperately trying not to garden properly as I think we still have the sting in the tail to come. There are things flowering that shouldn’t be, and we have had tortoishell butterflies and honey bees on the heathers this morning! Delightful!

Admittedly it's beautiful weather and just the job for washing but here in the North West it's not suitable to be sitting outside because that breeze is a bit on the cool side and being close to the sea makes it cooler than it is.
I'm not complaining though as it'll see this month out nicely with the hope for more to come later on in the year.

Absolutely gorgeous here in Fife too. Just strolled out to buy a stamp and not breath of wind. DH busy in garden where we shall have our afternoon coffee in the newly cleaned out summerhouse - Enjoy everyone

A perfect 25 C in the shade here in Oxfordshire, has been similar for a few days. I too am hoping this doesn't mean we are in for another scorching hot summer. I used to be a sun lover but now I am older I can't stand extreme heat.

It's 16° in Northumberland just now. It's been a lovely day. DSiL is here cutting the tops off the leylandi hedge to prevent it interfering with the phone wires.

Sitting in the sun in our sheltered garden on the NW coast wearing just a t shirt. Glorious while it lasts!

South East here too. I have seen Brimstones for the last few days - always a harbinger of Spring, and two weeks ago the first Red Admiral out from hibernation!
Grass cut a week ago, and two washing loads dried outside last week.
The next couple of days look to be similar, but going downhill from Thursday.
I really hope it doesn't all turn on its head and return to very cold weather again, but who knows?
I shall be gardening tomorrow - weeding and a bit more tidying up, then maybe an afternoon in the greenhouse to catch up on much needed repotting.

The sunshine has made me notice the windows need cleaning! However, I am enjoying the unexpected sunshine and getting out as much as possible.

It's bright and sunny in Aberdeenshire too but not nearly as mild as in the South...beware casting cloots etc.. Bumble bees are usually the first wee beasties to emerge in Spring.

Just keep enjoying this unseasonably warm weather, I keep remembering something my paternal Gran often said “don’t cast a clout till May is out” I think it means keep your warm clothes on just in case?

GrannyGravy13. The May your grandmother referred to was May blossom, not the month. I'm guessing it might flower earlier this year.

I'm in Glasgow and yesterday it was 22degC on our patio at 4pm. Got a touch of sunburn having afternoon tea there. ?
Looks like today is going to be equally glorious.
