I think we all know by now that our posts can sometimes be read on FB but at least that is on the GN page.
What I've found lately is thst a Australian based page for seniors is retelling posts as if it's a news article (they are crediting GN) I find this rather underhand. sad
Wasn't sure if I could name them

Thank you for highlighting this nina. I suppose we shouldn’t be surprised at anything. I was quite disturbed at the interpretation of posts and the judgements made in the article. I’ll be interested to hear what others think.

We know that anything posted here can be found by anyone on internet, but it does seem underhand to take a recent, somewhat controversial thread and make it into a big news story on the Australian site. If it turned out that OP was not genuine, then Gransnet would be responsible for ‘fake news’ ?.
It makes me more determined to only post innocuous comments on Gransnet - nobody is likely to make a news story out of fondant icing!

Farmor your last sentence grin

Gosh! This feels a bit like Radio 4s Today programme who sometimes interview someone, ask a leading question and then use the answer as the main story in the news! Almost creating the news for their own benefit!

I know that a comment was deleted on the thread in question. I suspect because the comment.
However is it difficult to imagine that a "journalist" could create post to then use as an article elsewhere?

GN admin what's your take on this?

Hi. Just to reassure you, we don't have any connection with that site. Please do continue to report any posts you aren't sure about and we'll take a look. But please rather do it that way than suggesting anyone may not be genuine on the thread. Thanks smile

Lara I didn't intend to imply there was a connection between GN and starts at 60 in fact I was pointing out that I thought they had a cheek to use a GN post.

It was me nina I reported my own post to alert admin. I was querying if there could ever be a connection with any journalist 'creating copy' by starting controversial debates. I felt this would contravene guidelines.
