I am so tired of all this minority stuff creeping in everywhere, would male or female not suffice.

No it was definitely "associate" and you are right Eglantine. It should be identify. I told them at the end of the survey.

Our new attitude toward gender is a little dangerous.
At around 5 my son wanted to wear his sisters clothes and got obsessed with jewellery.
It was a phase that lasted a few weeks and was replaced with balaclavas and guns.
I feel that nowadays a “ new age parent would have changed his name to Thomasina and put him in dresses!

I’d rather jewellery than guns whether boy or girl.

My daughters son likes to wear her jewellery and nail varnish (although he won't wear it at summer club in case he's teased - his words.) She just accepts this and doesn't try to sway him one way or the other. Which is as it should be. I know children who had a very difficult time because of gender issues and still do even today which is very sad. So it's good that there is so much acceptance. I do feel sometimes though that it is being overthought and can be confusing. However I may be wrong because I cannot put myself in someone else's shoes. Better overthinking than having someone being treated wrongly.
