Good morning, Michael and all GNs. I am an early bird this morning. A sleepless night and a cold coming on. I think it will be a bright day today. DH is going to football, so I have an afternoon to myself which for once I don’t relish as we are wrestling with a family problem and I can’t seem to make room in my head for anything else. Have a good day, folks.

Good morning All. Heavy clouds again in Cheshire. And probably not any rain yet again.

Ormond56 Sat 18-Aug-18 06:47:09

Morning to all too, restless night for me too can’t blame the heat this time! DH snoring on and off but.... oh well Buckingham cloudy at moment too but hopefully sun will pop out sometime. Greyduster hope problem sorts itself out for you! I recently had a family problem but getting there now hopefully. Learning even at my young age of 66 try not to worry toooo much doesn’t help?

Gagagran Sat 18-Aug-18 07:01:08

Morning all!

Grey and humid here on the south coast and I had a restless night too with my aches and pains being bothersome.

Today would have been my dear Mum's 107th birthday. I still miss her.

Hope you get your problem sorted Grey - or at least manage to park it until it is sorted. I had a friend who used to say "Who will worry about it in 100 years?" and that helped me get a little perspective when I was fretting over something.

Hope the day is a good one for us all.

Good morning Mick and all.

It's pouring down here in Glasgow☔.
We are looking forward to a peaceful day, as we are expecting no workmen nor family visitors, ( much as we love seeing them).

Catching up on housework and some alterations to do, as I always have to alter sleeves and hems, being vertically challenged.?

Greyduster, I hope you find some peace of mind, we mums never stop worrying about our families.?
Have a restful day everyone.

Morning Mick and All.

Cloudy here in South Bucks but should warm up later.

Off to Oxford today for our annual trip to Wadham College to see an Open Air Production of Private Lives. Should be fun.

Any chance Greyduster you can immerse yourself in some tv series or clearing out some cupboard or wardrobe. I use distraction techniques to keep my mind off constant worries about my family.

Hello Marydoll I see our time clocks are similar again. Enjoy a relaxed day. Hope Dr Kildare was effective ?

Marydoll Sat 18-Aug-18 07:40:20

Ha, ha, Kate. It's still painful, so he will have to remain here a little longer.?
Enjoy your day out.

Good morning from a grey N Bucks.
I hope any weddings happening today go smoothly, that the bride, MOB and MOG look lovely and that the sun shines on them.
I have nothing planned for today - weekends seem to be like that - so I shall set my mind to enjoying doing nothing.
Wishing you all a pleasant day

Good Morning to you all

A grey but dry start to what I guess will be one busy weekend with august Bank Holiday close ahead this is the week that gets busier and busier as folks pile in to grab that last week or two of official summertime!!

Another viewer .....they seem to be arriving from London at quite a rate..........another wait and see.

Sorry you are being somewhat dogged by a family issue GreyD ..........best not dwelling but easier said than done, get stuck into something you enjoy might help take the edge off your thoughts.

Wishing you all a grand weekend, may the weather be kind and for all those Weddings may the sun shine nicely!!

Good morning all. A bit of a grey start here on the NE coast which is set to continue pretty much all day.

Nothing much planned for today except a bit of shopping and some housework.

Have a good Saturday everyone.

Morning everyone, wet here in NE Fife I'm afraid, not nice. Have yet another very busy day in front of us. Who said retirement was relaxing. Just feel at the moment we don't have ay time to do what we would like to do for helping others out. Like many as much as we love our family and love helping out there comes a time when we do need just some time to do as we please. As said previously we never stop worrying about family it goes with being parents. However our holiday is only 13 days away hooray!!! Hope your feeling better Marydoll after your wee accident the other day. Have a relaxing day if you can.

Morning everyone.
From an as yet cloudy dull Kent though sun is forecast.
We have a boot full of stuff to go to the charity shop this morning, including 23 jigsaws blush.

Auntieflo Sat 18-Aug-18 08:14:27

Morning Mick, Annie and all who are here with the early birds. My tea has just arrived, so will swallow the tablets and slowly come to. It's dry but grey here, and no shopping today, unless I suddenly think of something. I hope all with worries, aches and pains can manage their day. Have a peaceful weekend all.

kittylester Sat 18-Aug-18 08:18:07

Morning all.

North Leicestershire is grey but muggy this morning.

And, I'm stressed! We went to bed last night leaving mummy cat and 3 kittens in the kitchen with the cat flap locked. This morning I found all of them outside. confused

Last full day of middle daughter's visit. I love her, her husband and her daughters dearly but I also love my peace and not catering for vast numbers. As a grand finale, we have an extra two grandchildren tonight so all our children can go out together.

Hoping all goes well for Topsy and everyone else has a lovely day.

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Still in bed so no idea what the weather is in Mid Wales, think it’s cloudy.

Younger granddaughter coming to see me today, I miss her popping in since she moved, so am thrilled she is here today.

Scooter out of hall at last, son in law who isn’t moved it out yesterday.

harrigran Sat 18-Aug-18 08:34:32

Good morning from an overcast NE.
Had a phone call from my sister on Thursday evening announcing that she was here confused she lives abroad but had travelled to the UK. She swore that she had told me and another sister over the phone of her date of arrival and had been ringing sister's house to see where she was, she is away on holiday.
I think my weekend has been arranged for me.

Nana3 Sat 18-Aug-18 08:39:41

Good morning.
So many of us had a sleepless night, we could resurrect the 'can't sleep' thread.
I had a visitor yesterday evening who ranted about the reasons she voted brexit and I went to bed upset and with a head full of 'should have saids', grrr.
Feeling tired and a bit weepy this morning, need to buck up.
Have a good day everyone.

Pittcity Sat 18-Aug-18 08:50:35

Good morning from a grey skied Colchester. I slept well and late even though I spent a lot of yesterday asleep in the car.
Post holiday laundry to get done. Thank God it's dry and blowy today.

DoraMarr Sat 18-Aug-18 08:59:16

Good morning from a cloudy Birmingham. I’m hoping the sun will shine because my daughter is giving a family party today, and we have family arriving from East Anglia and London. So I will see my mother, sisters, cousins, children and all threee grandchildren together.
Woke up at 5.30 with a lovely feeling of anticipation. Wondered what I was anticipating, then realised it was a lie-in!
Doh!

NannyJan53 Sat 18-Aug-18 09:00:54

Good morning from a dull Black Country, which is predicted to brighten as the day goes on.

After a busy week with grandchildren, nothing planned for the weekend, so will be going with the flow smile

Gagagran it would have been my maternal grandmothers 107th birthday last Wednesday, she lived to 95, and still sorely missed by all the family.

Wishing you all a good weekend

cornergran Sat 18-Aug-18 09:40:38

Morning Mick, Morning All. Grey and drizzly in our corner of Somerset. A good night for me, slept for 10 hours, the product of a rare sleeping tablet, it was needed. Wishing topsy and her family the happiest of weddings. I understand only too well greyd, have had 17 months of family relationship worries, sometimes it’s good to think, sometimes distraction is best. Sending hugs, energy and resilience to anyome needing it today. Now I really should do something smile.

ContraryMary88 Sat 18-Aug-18 09:48:24

Morning Mick, morning everybody, grey and drizzley here in Oxfordshire, we are going to try out the new barbecue this evening as a practise for next weekend, when DHs family are all coming up to camp in the garden, there will be 17 of us, should be fun........
I’m going to be writing lists today of what we will need to feed them all.
Have a good day.
