Well yes it is! I'm not a big tweeter but I've ended up following all sorts of people and animals. For some reason I follow police dogs, otters, lots of cats and even something called the sausage army - also dogs! Obviously it's the owners who post but the pictures and captions and quite witty comments are fun. I also follow people related to professional interests. Various celebs too. Often unexpectedly I've ended up having direct conversations with 'celebs'. Eg Rev Richard Cole all yesterday pm. Kirsty Allsopp argued with me and I argued right back.
Once you start to follow someone you see their 'likes' and retweets which draws you in to others.
Organisations set up twitter hours on set topics that you can join in too.
Try it. Persevere.

Never tried it, from what you read it seems full of trolls

I gave up on it after a couple of years as part of my general digital detox.

Never tried it as I don't like the idea that anyone can follow you? I may have that wrong though.

Wouldn't want to get drawn into any more social media, FB and GN is enough for me

I tweet ! I find it really useful in breaking news situations as its often more informative. I follow a number of people that I'm interested in hearing what they have to say.

I wouldn't say its my favourite social media tool but I see its value.

I love twitter- you can follow all sorts of people. You can make your account secure so people have to ask to be able to follow you.

It's also easy to block people you don't like or want to be able to follow you. Don't write it off without trying it.

I like twitter. I don't really post much but I enjoy following various news channels because you seem to find out things faster on there and celebrities and so on, As previous posters have said you can make your account private so you can decide whether or not to accept them as followers.
