People lucky enough to have a clear sky this evening (between
7.30 and 9 pm) will hopfully be able to view a Blood Moon Eclipse
We have had a hot sunny afternoon but now the clouds are looming
over headsad

tanith Fri 27-Jul-18 17:25:47

It’s very overcast here in West London. I’ll keep an eye on it just in case I can get a glimpse.

lemongrove Fri 27-Jul-18 17:30:44

Cloudy here too, I am looking forward to seeing a blood moon, so hope it clears.☄️

PECS Fri 27-Jul-18 17:31:30

It was a pretty spectacular mon last night but hope clouds clear for the eclipse!

petra Fri 27-Jul-18 17:41:32

I hope it does clear, a few of us are going down the beach later.

HildaW Fri 27-Jul-18 17:44:10

I'd swap a blood moon for a good downpour any day! grin

MissAdventure Fri 27-Jul-18 17:45:31

I hope its clear tonight. smile

MiniMoon Fri 27-Jul-18 18:02:35

The moon rises tonight at 9:14 pm. At least it does in my part of Northumberland. We have thunderstorms forecast for this evening so I'm doubtful about seeing the lunar eclipse.

Jalima1108 Fri 27-Jul-18 18:36:46

It has clouded over here - the first time for a while!

Eloethan Fri 27-Jul-18 18:39:59

I've been really looking forward to this but here in east London it is bucketing down and I'm not sure there's much chance that the sky will clear.

NanKate Fri 27-Jul-18 18:48:06

Cloudy and damp in South Bucks ??

BlueBelle Fri 27-Jul-18 18:48:12

The time we have is been given is between 9.45 and 10.30 not 7.30 to 9
Not too much cloud yet and no rain or storm so far fingers crossed

Cherrytree59 Fri 27-Jul-18 19:03:19

Yes you are right BlueBell the UK time is as you say 9.45pm.
Not quite sure what country I was looking at!

The Luna effect on my brain blush

BlueBelle Fri 27-Jul-18 19:06:43

???

Fennel Fri 27-Jul-18 19:24:38

You've all reminded me that tonight is Full Moon!
We have a lunar calendar and tonight is the 15th (of 30). Often associated with a dramatic change of weather.

Pittcity Fri 27-Jul-18 19:31:31

I'd prefer rain to seeing the blood moon, but both would be nice.

starbird Fri 27-Jul-18 19:39:35

It is supposed to be good because the moon is low on the horizon at the moment so will look bigger. I saw a blood moon about 12 years ago from the southern hemisphere but the moon was tiny and it was not that spectacular.
Now if we also see flying fishes and walking forests it must mean that a donkey is being born!

Greyduster Fri 27-Jul-18 19:50:34

Not a hope here; a good covering of cloud here now.

petra Fri 27-Jul-18 20:02:57

We were going to have cocktails and canapés on the beach, but as I type it has started to pee down ?
I think it's everyone to mine. Chin chin grin

Jalima1108 Fri 27-Jul-18 20:14:15

If I'm not going to be able to see the eclipse, then I would like it to pee down

(just found my heathers round the corner, forgotten and brown sad)

Jalima1108 Fri 27-Jul-18 20:14:58

I think it's everyone to mine
Yes please - do you have any Pimms?
I can bring strawberries grin

Cherrytree59 Fri 27-Jul-18 20:19:14

Oh dear Petrasad
We have been complaining about the weather and sorely need rain, but even so you can't rely on the good British weather.
DH has camera ready but it mostly clouds with only a pockets of blue sky visible.

Fennel Yes a full moon and we are forecast a much cooler weekend with rain or even hail most of Sunday.

Starbird where I live I am more likely to see a flying pig.

Minimoon I expect you will see plenty of moon activitygrin

BlueBelle Fri 27-Jul-18 21:10:09

Just been down to the beach no sign of any moon red white or made of cheese

etheltbags1 Fri 27-Jul-18 21:41:31

No moon on the northumberland coast but lots of lovely rain. Chuckin it down along with a thunderstorm. I'm a bit scared but worth it for my babies in the garden

lemongrove Fri 27-Jul-18 21:49:49

Just popped into the garden, but no moon is visible.
