I was talking to a friend the other day about life when we were children - reminiscing about this and that. And we both recalled knocking on young mums' doors and asking, 'Can I take your baby for a walk?' And we would be allowed to! Off we went, with baby in pram, up and down the streets. (No promise of when we would get back!)
This seems so strange now. Almost unbelievable!
Who, in their right mind, would ever entrust their baby to a child they hardly knew?
How times have changed!
Does anyone else remember doing this?
