We always look out in anticipation for the arrival of the swallows which usually come around the end of April. This year we were grieving that they must have been killed on their migration---but on Sunday (June 10th) there they were, wheeling and swooping overhead and diving in and out of their usual nesting site through a broken window in the old house next door. I can imagine their conversation---"Whew, we're home at last. What a journey this year! Right, you go and put the kettle on for a cuppa and I'll make a start on putting that nest to rights." Bless them.
