I was looking after GD for a couple of days and on one of those had to send her off on a trip with a packed lunch. Well it's very different from when I was young (I am in my mid 50s)! We would get a sandwich (ham, cheese or egg), a bag of crisps as a treat and a biscuit eg a penguin or a club plus maybe an apple or range. We loved packed lunches because we never got those treats normally.
For my GD her mum had left cut up vegetable sticks with a small pot of hummus, a separate pot of berries, some sushi, crisps, a chocolate bar and a yoyo (dried fruit snack). Don't get me wrong this all sounds delicious and apart from the treats quite healthy but so fancy! Apparently this is what everyone has now (they are in a regular state primary school like the one I went to) How times have changed
