Who knows? Who cares?

The question always must be when buying such objects is it useful and/or beautiful- I suspect these things may be neither.

If they come out of an email catalogue, however elevated, they are not likely to become the rare antiques of the future. Now, if you can get yourself invited to Harry and Meghan's wedding and preserve the invitation with your name on it, along with a photograph of yourself and A N Other in your best bibs and tuckers with the happy couple featuring in the same shot then in the republican future your greatgreatgrandchildren might get a dollar or two.

Both bits of memorabilia should be in mint condition, of course, so don't turn down the corners, and if you could get Harry to sign the invitation then in the unlikely event of him becoming Henry IX it could put up the value to three dollars.

I think they go under the name of..............old Tat..........sorry.

If I were you I’d dig a hole in the ground and bury the money instead of buying any ‘not ever likely to be antiques’ memorabilia.

Even if you forget to dig the money up, you won’t be losing anything.

Just in case Rufus2 isn't joking: I got quite excited a couple of years ago when I unearthed some 'Edward VIII coronation' stuff from my grandparents. Completely worthless!

Talking of unearthing! When we lived in our little terraced house (built 1824) in Windsor adjacent to the Great Park there was a group of allotments, created during WW1 to assist the war effort.
I double-dug that for years growing our sprouts, cabbages, spuds etc. all the big veggies. We enjoyed what the Royal Pheasants missed.
Anyway, I digress. All I ever found during my strenuous unearthing were beer bottles, broken crockery, smashed porcelain toilet bowls etc No coins, not even of the Roman kind.
All completely worthless!

If you are still with me , thank you all for your patience and advices. Having been away for nearly 50 years I've lost touch with what the Royal souvenir market is like, so I might just hang onto my wallet for now.

As you might have guessed, it's been a cold wet Saturday, so I've kept my computer company, without feeling guilty about not being outside in the fresh air, mowing the lawn, painting the house or mending stuff.
BTW Elegran; I failed in my bid for an invitation and a facsimile has failed to appear on the internet.
I was going to copy it and send it in to Windsor Castle, declining graciously. Even if it arrived late I could hope for it to be returned marked "not known at this address" That would still have a market value I would think!
I really must get out of your hair and organise my dinner.
