The Weather

Agree with every word, Watermeadow. Another chilly person here who has had heating on nearly every day for months. (Yes must be TM's fault everything is)

It’s been warmer here for the last few days although it’s cloudy too. I’m in the south east.

It's been rather nice here today (N Scotland). The heating is on timer now instead of continuous and I finally, finally! got to wear my spring jacket which I bought back in February. No gloves, either!

Cold and grey and windy here too and it’s just started to rain, spoke to SIL earlier and she was sitting in her garden in the sun, told me how hot she was , 60 miles away.

Warm enough to sit out in the garden today watching the washing dry in the breeze and sunshine today but a tad chilly in the evening so the heating is on as always.

Only once this year I have gone to bed without a hot water bottle.

Cold, windy and raining here today so what happened to that hot air from Africa heading our way?
Like you , I have the heating on but I refuse to wear boots.

Yes, still have the heating on here too, they say Wed and Thu will be very warm and sunny (24 in the South East) I really hope so.
It has been a bit warmer here today and yesterday ( but only a bit.)

It's been so windy here today, but I resisted the urge to put the heating on. Yesterday I only had it on for an hour in the evening.
Tomorrow we are promised a warm day. I'm looking forward to it. I hope I won't be disappointed.

Really cold and windy here too and still using the heating but have stopped the hotties. I put my boots on today as it was very wet.
What puzzles me is that DH was looking at the records he keeps on the PV panels and the electricity generated over this last winter quarter is the greatest winter amount since they were commissioned, we have had them for three winter quarters now. How does that work when it has seemed particularly dull and grey this winter? On the other hand the thermodynamic panel which works particularly well on wind and rain (in addition to the sun) has also put on a good performance. Puzzling!

Again exactly the same here in West Wales and despite having the heating plus extra heaters on at times I am still not all that warm for some of the time.
I dread the arrival of those heating bills.
It has been a particularly long and unpleasant winter and all these promises .......which never seem to bring that warmer weather or heatwave..........add to our feelings of despondency I am sure.
Strange how we no longer have recognised seasons but jump into one .......such as summer..........not having even had Spring.

Personally I believe the Russians are pressing certain buttons!!!

I am in Essex, and woke this morning to blue sky and sun, rather pleasant after recent weather conditions. H is going to mow the lawn, I am off to the gym then spending the afternoon with DGS. Getting itchy fingers to use our new BBQ (bought on a grey snowy afternoon in Feb)

The wind yesterday was horrendous and blew the garden furniture which I'd just got out and cleaned on Sunday all over the garden. Thankfully it's calmed down a bit today so the washing lines have gone out for the first time this year - just hoping it doesn't snow!!

Granny, good for you going to the gym. But don't use the barbecue. They are carcinogenic abominations.

Cold and dull in Northern Ireland today. We have been promised a heatwave. My plants have just given up. Even the daffodils just produced leaves but no flowers. I have only put washing on the line once this year. What is going on?

Well, it's 10:10 on Wed morning and the sun's beating down here, no breeze, everyone shedding outer layers.
I'm wearing a cami and loose, cotton 3/4 trousers and had coffee in the garden...in fact, that's where I'm typing this.
In an hour or so I'll go into town and mooch around the shops, buy fruit veg and bread from the independents which I like to support and feed the ducks on the canal whilst admiring the houseboats.
Retirement has many pleasures, not least the fact that I have all day to please myself.
Good weather adds to the enjoyment and lidos (2 nearby) offer other sources of pleasure in summer.
All four seasons have their advantages.

Beautiful blue skies, gently breeze, warm and a T shirt on. Out on the decking transplanting my chilli ? seedlings bliss. Oh and Grannygravey 31 if you want a bbq have one and enjoy ?

Beautiful here in Dorset, warm sunshine and just a light breeze. Three loads of washing out, house cleaned and some garden weeding done.
OH is fixing the outside tap (unusable for a couple months now) so we have the water turned off at the moment. Amazing how many times I go to use the tap lol.
We've not used any heat for a couple of weeks now.

It’s lovely here, I have even left my vest off. Going away for a couple of days and packing everything as I do feel the cold. Opps must put the hot water in just in case.

I did see one or two buds on a tree yesterday and the daffodils have bloomed at last in County Durham.

Thank God we are not on our own regarding the heating is all I can say. I was beginning to think it was us for still needing the heating on at this time of the year
