Only he could ignore messages about his son being in hospital because 'he was on a stag night' and then not pay the children's maintenance because 'he spent too much' on the stag night. angry

Actually, I doubt he's the only one! sad

I know it is very hard on the children kitty to have such a neglectful father, but your D really is well rid of him.
I am so pleased for you all that she is in a very happy and loving relationship and they are soon to be a complete family.
The children will see through him as they get older , I just hope their hurt will disappear when they see him for what he really is.
His current girl friend must be a very odd girl to condone what he is doing and if I remember correctly it is not the first time.

What a prince of a man! Are you going to nominate him as Father of the Year? (when I first typed this my fingers typed "Fathead of the Year"!)

harrigran Wed 11-Apr-18 08:38:50

I feel your anger kitty, those not in the know could be forgiven for thinking you were talking about a 20 something young man. This is an a***hole an older man that should know better.

grannyqueenie Wed 11-Apr-18 09:11:51

What a stupid man he is, children are very astute and they will realise as they grow up that he’s not to be trusted or relied upon. He clearly doesn’t realise what precious relationships he will lose out on.

ninathenana Wed 11-Apr-18 09:21:08

Once an idiot always an idiot sadangry

Teetime Wed 11-Apr-18 10:07:57

I love that Fat Head of the Year - perfect.

NfkDumpling Wed 11-Apr-18 10:08:00

He’s incredible! It’d be laughable if it weren’t so sad. One day he may come to his senses and realise what he’s done and missed. And suffer remorse. Lots of remorse. Buckets of the stuff.

HAZBEEN Wed 11-Apr-18 10:13:01

He really is an Idiot with a capital I isnt he? I think he might be related to the Moron I divorced! Your DD is well rid of him.

kittylester Wed 11-Apr-18 10:14:54

Then again, nfk.........!

Sorry, 'fathead' doesn't cut the mustard -Harri has got our pet name for him. grin

It's the aggro for poor DD that gets me. Luckily, her partner is a fabulous stepdad but the Idiot keeps reappearing to mess things up for the children.

NanaandGrampy Wed 11-Apr-18 11:25:43

I suggest a coach trip from a group of grans to help him see the error of his ways smile --- Ill bring the frozen leg of lamb Kitty

NanKate Wed 11-Apr-18 11:34:02

Well NanaandGrampy can you bring two frozen legs of lamb. One for my DinL who STILL hasn’t come to the table to discuss the house and children. This has now been going on for 10 bl**dy months. However in despair my DS has taken out a Court Order to force her.

Sorry to hear about the Idiot Kitty still giving your family problems. Is your GS recovered now Kitty do hope so ?

yggdrasil Wed 11-Apr-18 11:38:05

kittylester: he's not the only one. But it isn't my place to tell this (ongoing) story. It helps if the children have grandparents they can relate to.

kittylester Wed 11-Apr-18 11:59:34

That's good news iyswim Kate.

DGS is fine and went back to school on Tuesday. He had to go he said because Mr XXX (the head) is waiting to shake my hand in assembly. He had been pupil of the week just before they broke up for Easter.

That is down to DD and her partner and, yes, yggdrasil, to his grandparents too. Though I'm fairly sure that the Idiot would claim credit for it. I'm sorry if you are going through similar. There's a lot of it about!!

That sounded very arrogant - what I meant was that lots of grandparents like us do the best we can for our DGC. And we do a lot of tongue biting! Kate, I know is another one who does.

kittylester Wed 11-Apr-18 12:00:32

And, nina.

Greyduster Wed 11-Apr-18 13:10:30

Glad to hear your GS is back at school, kitty and congratulations to him on his accolade! What I think about his father is not printable - I would suggest stringing up by his xxxxx but he probably doesn’t have any!

annsixty Wed 11-Apr-18 13:40:13

Ooh Greyduster what would your children think? blush

NanKate Wed 11-Apr-18 15:58:31

I would like to see my adulteress DinL ride off into the sunset with her fancy man never to be seen again. We can easily manage without her, so there, with brass knobs on.

Greyduster Wed 11-Apr-18 16:02:25

They’ve given up trying to make a lady out of me, Ann! grin

lemongrove Wed 11-Apr-18 16:23:47

Kitty What a very strange man he must be!
Pleased for your DD and her children that they have a good Step Father waiting in the wings.smile

Chinesecrested Wed 11-Apr-18 19:22:23

Lots of men are totally irresponsible (not all, thank goodness!) My son's father just disappeared when ds was about 21 months, and we never heard from him again. C'est la vie! His loss. He's a sad, lonely old man now and D's isn't interested. It's karma!

MawBroon Wed 11-Apr-18 20:25:54

Got it right first time I think Oldwoman70
The Idiot adds a whole new dimension to the expression “beggars belief”

Jalima1108 Wed 11-Apr-18 20:32:26

This may sound unkind, but I do wish him and his ilk a lonely old age.
