I watched the film Everest last night and it got me thinking. I realise the actual film was dramatic with artistic licence and not being a climber I have no idea if over exaggerated or underplayed, but it left me with a sad feeling to find out that dead bodies are left all over the mountain where they fall, clearly visible to new climbers.
I also appreciate the danger of recovery of these poor people, it's their choice etc etc but when I googled this subject it just didn't sit well knowing that some bodies that have been there for years are seen as guide points for climbers, there are over 200 dead bodies up there that will never decompose properly and I'm guessing sadly, more to come , what do you think?
There is also a serious amount of rubbish up there esp o2 bottles, it seems such a shame that we can't keep beautiful places like this beautiful.
