Yesterday I had to drive my OH to his clinic appointment - the hospital car parks were full, so I dropped him off where he needed to be and found one parking place near the clinic. When I went to pay (£3.50 for one hour, £5 for two!) I did not have enough change - I was short by 50p. I went into the clinic waiting room and asked the woman behind the desk if there was anywhere I could get change and she directed me to the hospital shop - a very long walk away. A man in the waiting room came up and handed me 50p - I said that I would be a while getting change to repay him, and he just said "It's a gift."
