An ex colleague of mine was vegan, and kept chickens at home. I never thought to ask her when she worked with us, but it's something I've wondered.
So - if vegans keep chickens, and the chickens do what chickens do best, and lay eggs - do the vegan owners just throw those eggs away? Or would they eat them?
I do "get" vegans not wanting to eat farmed animal products such as dairy products or honey, but when it is an animal that is living a lovely free life, possibly having been rescued from a life of battery egg production, surely there is no exploitation of the animal and it's just performing its natural function?
Would the eggs just be allowed to rot? Seems such a waste if so.

Someone needs to go back to Junior School himself.
Unbearable grief compounded by our adult children’s reactions
