What makes you feel virtuous?

I have just finished my Spanish homework for my next lesson. I now feel very virtuous!
Dusting also makes me feel good - mostly because I hate doing it so much that when I actually get to it, the feeling lasts for days/weeks/months grin

Emptying the ironing basket or cleaning the windows. After either of those I polish my halo grin

Tidying the spice and herbs racks

Clearing out a cupboard or throwing out old clothes.

Halo polishing is good!! Thank you mollie

I'm feeling excessively virtuous as I've just decoked the cupboard where I keep the oil. Yuck.

That made me feel so good that I did the pan drawers too!! Unfortunately I can't do any more because I'm going to the cinema in a minute!

'decoked' is that a typo or a regional expression kitty ?
I stand my oil bottles in an empty foil tray BTW.
Seeing clean laundry blowing on the line makes me feel virtuous.

Oddly, I feel very pleased with myself when I collect the empty bins after the binmen have been. If it’s empty it means I got the right bin out on the right day and in time...not always an easy feat! Lol!

Just finished my pet hate - the ironing - halo shining as brightly as mollie's ?

lemongrove Fri 16-Feb-18 16:36:28

Bathroom cleaning! ?

Jalima1108 Fri 16-Feb-18 17:36:11

Saying 'no thank you' when DH suggested we went for tea and cake at the garden centre this afternoon (we'd just gone to look at plants).

Jalima1108 Fri 16-Feb-18 17:37:03

cleaning the oven is another one!

cornergran Fri 16-Feb-18 18:17:34

Anything that I think I should do as opposed to what I actually want to do.

DanniRae Fri 16-Feb-18 20:13:30

When I have had a complete day of eating healthily - not a thing that happens very often!! wink

kittylester Fri 16-Feb-18 20:17:51

Not a typo, nina, you didn't see the state of my cupboard! blush

phoenix Fri 16-Feb-18 20:43:42

Making "random vegetable soup" ! So virtuous, I almost trip over my halo as I glide across the kitchen! grin

Luckygirl Fri 16-Feb-18 21:14:35

Being patient with OH when his anxiety is eating up my life - today I failed - tomorrow I will do better.

JoyBloggs Fri 16-Feb-18 21:17:04

grandMattie Snap! Today did my 'homework' for next week's class and also some (but not much) dusting.

Being able to tick any one thing completely off my 'to do' list and particularly if it's a long standing item. Don't know if virtuous is accurate since my list includes many pathetic and feeble requirements but the feel good factor certainly abounds for the rest of the day. I really do need to have a serious word with myself regarding this list!

grandMattie Sat 17-Feb-18 09:45:23

If only JoyBloggs. Dusting will have to wait another time...

I feel virtuous as I've got down to 9st 7lbs at long last (7lbs to go to get to my target) - but I mustn't celebrate by buying a big cake, packet of crisps, scones, etc - but they're very tempting.
I felt good t'other day as I learnt how to put some contacts into a group for emailing - but was brought back down to earth today when for some reason I had to put in a new password to access emails. Annoying or what?
And of course I feel good after doing any housework at all as I hate most of it.

Cooking several dishes in the oven not just one! Inviting several lonely or difficult neighbours for a meal.

inishowen Sat 17-Feb-18 10:17:36

Cleaning out the shower trap. For a few days I notice the water is not going down so I steel myself to pull it up and clean the black gunk that lodges there. Yuck I hate it, but love to see the water swirling down afterwards.

Cleaning the enormous so**ing
windows. Pass the swear box ?

Minerva Sat 17-Feb-18 11:02:28

Emptying the kitchen scraps bucket into the compost bin in the garden. I just drove my daughter and grandson to the station and told them I would empty the bucket as soon as I got home. Well I’m reading Gransnet, drinking a cup of coffee and eating buttered toast. But I swear I will do it before they get back....
