If people need sticks for balance/walking. then how do they wave at me with them when I drive past??

Think I may be a little stir crazy.........

They like to live dangerously! grin

How else do you wave if you've got a stick in each hand?
You can still have three points of contact with the ground....

lemongrove Tue 09-Jan-18 11:56:47

Do they wave them happily at you or threateningly?grin

Katek Tue 09-Jan-18 12:09:55

It was the single stick wave allie which negates any support from said stick. Perhaps they’re gesticulating and not waving lemongrove........must try waving back and see what happens!

Are you that awful a driver?grin. I had an aunt who used to complain that drivers were so impatient because they kept beeping their horn at her. Her driving deserved it!

Katek Tue 09-Jan-18 12:38:33

Hope not Nonnie! Have had an incident free motoring career........so far!

Do they stop to wave ? H uses a stick on bad days but dosen't need it to balance when stationary.

Maybe they wave it then bitterly regret it but you've moved on so you don't see the consternation you've left behind grin

I use a stick out walking these days as I still have one wonky knee (seeing the consultant Friday - wish me luck!). It’s handy for balance and keeping me on an even keel when walking as otherwise I look like Long John Silver. But, I can manage quite well without it. And I do wave with it. It’s very handy. Cars stop to let me cross the road. And I get seats offered to me. I may never give it up.

I loved my stick too nfk and miss it but I got tennis elbow from using it sad. It was especially useful on the bus. You get lots of leeway if you have a stick!

I use a walking pole. It’s a bloody nuisance!

Galen Tue 09-Jan-18 16:12:44

I use 2 carbon fibre crutches. Both for support and balance.

Menopaws Tue 09-Jan-18 17:30:37

How fast are u driving!?

MawBroon Tue 09-Jan-18 17:39:15

Are you sure they are waving, not shaking their sticks at you Katek ?

NfkDumpling Tue 09-Jan-18 17:45:48

I know what you mean Jane, I get pain in my shoulder if I rely on the stick too much. I hope you're better soon, tennis elbow is not nice.

NfkD Good luck on Friday!

Thanks. I just need to get rid of this fluey type thing so they allow me through the doors!
