Just got a rotten cold and sore throat. This morning I was thinking of my mum, I was a child who always seemed to have something or other. I can remember my mum looking at me and saying "child you are full of cold". And then it was honey and lemon to sooth the throat, Vick on the chest covered with an old hanky, bread and milk (did anyone else have that) as it slipped down nicely. When I started wheezing it was the inhalation of Friars Balsm and a lamp that used to smell very strongly of, I think it was, tar. Wrapped up on the sofa with books and toys until I stopped wheezing it was almost worth feeling rotten. I need my mum today!!!!

Hope you soon shake it off, but I know what you mean about needing your mum. I've been feeling that way lately. I would so much like to just have a day or two of her strong support back. flowers

Early in the season for a cold Milly how unlucky, but get well soon.?
I know that many are waiting in the wings for me to come along and be grabbed by them ( horrible little viruses) but am hoping not until January.?

Have a nice warm cup of chicken soup whilst curled up on the sofa wrapped in a blankie. flowers

Mind you, these days I find a brisk walk with the dogs in the fresh air just as effective. And a drop of something warming is nice too wink

My dad used to say you had to walk to the top of a hill and leave your cold at the top!

Hope you soon feel better milly -there seems to be a nasty one about this year. My DH very rarely gets a snuffle and never takes any pills and potions as a rule, but he has been very laid low this time around. Hot toddy remedy???

Oh dear - you are getting ahead of yourself!

Yes, I remember the steam generators - a roomful of tarry smell; and the vick on the chest - lovely. Not sure it did any good but at least something was happening.

Get well soon.
