Big day, but where is the energy?

Big day ahead - off to London to see DS1 in a fringe theatre production. Going early - shopping first to take some goodies up - driving to south London and thankfully able to park for free by his flat. After an early lunch we will travel in by train / tube. Matinee at 2:30 - a long play lasting over 3 hours, then a brief catch up again before wending our way back. We will probably get home at about 9 if travelling is straight-forward. I am really looking forward to it, but know that I will be well worn by the time we get back home! Makes me think of all those younger days when we took times like this in our stride and still had some energy to spare! Now I feel it is on ration!!!

imperfect I feel your pain smile nowadays when faced with a day like you describe, I'd be looking for an affordable overnight room. When plans are made, the family know to build in what I call a "buffer zone" - time to recharge my batteries.

Fab though, the reason for your trip. Exciting! Enjoy (I trust there will be an interval during the play) ...

Sounds interesting imperfect. Where is it on at? You will need stamina (and maybe cushions?) for a 3 hour+ production though ??

Well, home by 9:45 after a train delay on our way back to Crystal Palace, We have had a lovely day and I was a proud mum watching my son perform (Workshop Theatre, London). Sorry I went for slightly glam shoes instead of something more comfortable as we did a fair bit of walking, but all in all a grand day out. I will sleep well tonight! grin

Glad it all went well for your DS Imperfect smile
I would have been tempted to wear trainers!

I went to a special reunion in London yesterday which I thoroughly enjoyed - but I'm shattered today as I did quite a bit of walking as there were no taxis due to a cycling event!
