Does anybody remember this magazine?

Yes I remember one from the 70's Daddimma It was called Disco 45 ! It was made from rough paper and smaller than the average magazine. I loved finding out the real lyrics to all the pop songs.

I only remember the New Musical Express, I loved it!

Didn't NME have a rival newspaper style magazine ? Can't remember the name.

Wasn't that more of a newspaper than a magazine? I mean, its layout etc. And I don't think they printed lyrics.

There was one in Germany and it was tiny, I think - handbag size. I only bought it a couple of times. But it may have been in the UK - memory is somehow going.

Oh yes indeed! Loved Disco 45. I actually think the paper nina's thinking of may be "Sounds". I always felt NME was for the more serious muso & Sounds was more poppy. I was the latter, with my pop lyrics in Disco 45 so I could sing along to the chart show on Sunday evening!

Now we can just look it up on the internet.

Was it not 'Pop Weekly' daddima? That was around in the early sixties and featured lots of pictures of our teenage crushes..john leyton and adam faith were mine but THEN along came the beatles and merseybeat! To be honest i can't remember if it did song lyrics too

I used to buy Disco 45 every month with my pocket money. I had piles of them! I lent them to a friend who never returned them. I have thought about them often when I sing along to songs

I have never heard of that one Jennylyn must be a different era, but I did have 'friends' like yours, and still have I am currently waiting for the return of a beloved book it's been about 2yrs now!

Disc and Music Echo was my favourite in the mid-60s ... later changed its name to Disc
