Just checked my emails and found one purporting to come from the TV licence people, wanting to give me a refund of nearly £90.

This is obviously a scam and I just wanted to warn all you lovely people Do Not Fall For This One

Haven't come across this public body being used before and I have reported it to the Fraud people. Incidentally I wanted to forward the email to TV licensing but just could NOT find an email address for them shock

Swanny had the exact same email earlier this week which said that they had tried to send the refund but the Bank details were not correct. I clearly remembered getting the refund 3 years ago when DH turned 75 so knew it was a scam but curiosity got the better of me and I clicked on it. Immediately a red warning screen appeared from my internet security telling me to delete the email ASAP, which I did. Now wondering how they know who to target (i.e. those around 75 years old)?

Granny I'm sure it's just random email addresses generated by computers whizzing through the alphabet. I haven't had a refund from them, nor am I likely to for (a few) years yet!

Thank goodness you had good internet security smile
