We have 2 of these in our house and never really expected to 'hear from them.' That is, until 2 o'clock this morning! I was really fast asleep and I was kind of half woken up by a beeping noise. I thought at first it was one of the tablets needing charging but I soon realised it was too loud for that. DH thought it might be the batteries failing as we bought them both at the same time, so I put new batteries into one of them and the beeping continued. We opened the front door and the door in the conservatory and let the wind blow through (it is extremely windy here at the moment) Both alarms continued beeping for a good 15 minutes and then stopped. We are fairly sure it mist have come from our wood burner as it was still warm. We think that as the wind is so strong, and possible in the 'wrong' direction, the fumes had blown into the house instead of being taken away. We went back to bed but now I am nervous about using the wood burner and so we are using our reversible air conditioning instead. Anyway, the whole point of this ramble is to say, if you haven't got a carbon monoxide detector then please get one. We know we could have both 'woken up dead!'
