Wellies!

I have a 30-year old pair of Hunter ladies' wellies which are very forgiving and suitably shabby chic (well shabby anyway!)

I buy mens wellies - generally much more substantial and wider in the leg than ladies. I can just step into mine without bending or pulling. Not elegant though!

Try a pair of neoprene ones and see if they are any better than rubber. Hunter make some I think, but they're pricey.

Not exactly a fashion statement but wider around the calf than Hunter wellies so I find mine easy to get on and off. The footbed is very comfortable and there is room for my orthotic insoles.

Very reasonable price as well.

DD has quite large calves from all the dancing and walking she did - she found Joules wellies fit her fine - you can get them with patterns on too.

That's a great price for the Landmasters. Love the red sole too - makes them a fashion statement for me.

I have muscular calves and wide feet with a bunion. I have bought a couple of pairs of these. They are not rubber so they can split after a while, but they are cheap enough to replace without breaking the bank. They are well cushioned and comfortable. My shoe size is between 5 and 5.5, but a 5 has ample room with socks.

Does it have to be a full leg boot? I've seen women wearing half leg wellies which may be easier to pull on and off.

I wear Toggi. They are not cheap but I wear them every day for dog walks and have had my current pair for 12 years. They are adjustable which makes them easier to remove. They are neoprene lined so keep feet warm. You can get a gadget to help remove wellies. We have a wooden one. I can't remember the proper name for it.

Think it may be a boot jack gretel , good for riding boots which tend to be a bit tighter.

deaneke cheap ones from sainsbury are wide enough to just slip you feet into without having to bend and only cost £12

meant to say, i put/take off my wellies at least a dozen times a day so cant be faffing just need to shove my feet in and go

I have the half leg Hunters in a fetching shade of aubergine. Can't be annoyed with the faff of getting full length wellies on and off. Should I actually require long wellies I probably shouldn't be outside!
