This works a treat. The second video is the best. You should see the gunk that collects on the drawer where you put the washing powder in. Needs to be cleaned out or the washing machine will smell of mould. To take out of washing machine just press down on the bit at the back of drawer and it should slide right out.

Wondering if anyone has any household tips they would like to add to the thread?

Yes yorkshiregel the gunk is disgusting!
Can't think of a tip at moment other than to get DH to clean it outgrin

Yuk, I hated that job. I now put the powder in one of the little balls used for liquid detergent and put it directly in the drum, it works.

The bit that holds the powder and slides out I usually put in the dishwasher on hot wash and just give the bit underneath a good scrub

Mr C blasts it out with the steamer. Works for a good while.

Oh yes, then run the washing machine on a hot wash to get rid of any bits left behind.

I used to hate that job. I never us the soap drawer no but put those little capsules things straight into the drum. as for household tips I'll ask DH - he does the housework.
