In spite of having read Sense and Sensebility half a dozen times, I hadn't realised until today when I read an article by Rachel Sylvester that Elinor Dashwood shares my view about the difference between a person and a persons thoughts/beliefs and feelings.
Elinor says: “it’s not what we think or feel that makes us who we are, it is what we do or fail to do”.
No better authority than Jane Austen on such a subject, I reckon.
