Why is my bathmat soaking when OH has a shower but when I use it its barely damp?

Who knows these are men we are talking about

All of that happens in this house too!! I do not step on the actual bath at all but have a hand towel to dry my hair which I then spread out on the mat to step on to. All this is one of the mysteries of life! When I once mentioned I had been cleaning the shower to OH and his son they looked at me in amazement and said what did I mean - the shower never needed cleaning!!! I did then explain why they thought that!

If we were to do it properly, we would get the job permanently.

Mm I remember seeing my late FIL tasked with stirring some custard. He smiled and was quite absent minded about it so got the job taken off him. I was flabbergasted and my look to him said it all-he just winked!
Crafty old sod! I don't usually swear. . . . .

I thought it was just my DH who couldn't wring out a washcloth properly. !!

What really P's me off at the minute is the fact that my DH BH can't have a shave without wiping his bloody face (and I mean that literally folks) on my nice clean WHITE towel. What is that about?

Or like mine used the tea towel to mop up the tea he spilt on the kitchen floor and put it back on the hook .

Wouldn't swap him though!

Oh I see I am not alone in this then .gillybob I have bought dark coloured towels for Hubby because he seems to be able to wash his hands and still make the white ones filthy. I cannot understand how!!, drives me bananas

The wet towel / hardly wet towel used to happen in this house too. Mine was hardly wet because I always wring out my flannel and wipe myself off with it before using towel. And yes I agree with what Wobbly says!

The unfortunate reality is that I am proving I can do all those things ATM as Mrs P has been unable to walk or stand for s few weeks now.

My husband's not like any of the above, in fact he is an old fusspot. Getting more so as.he gets older but not a problem. Son however leaves sponge and cloth in the washing up water and never hangs up a soaking bathmat.

We are having our own "wexit" soon,can't wait ( his name starts with W) and we are moving away. . Hooray waiting for house builders.

I would not be the same, though, would it, if they did not have these really annoying traits, I would imagine living with someone who is perfect must be really hard work.

DH is dishcloth incompetent too but he does a lovely pile of ironing!

When we had a new bathroom put into our last house, we exchanged a large freestanding sink for a smaller one set into a vanity unit. DH is an arch slosher when it comes to his ablutions and I would frequently find water on the floor, covering the toilet and everywhere else he could slosh it. It was like having a large wet dog in the bathroom. When we changed the bathroom here, I thought I'd found a sink that would solve the problem, but now I have come to the conclusion that there is no such thing. When it comes to the kitchen, he is fastidious to a fault and never leaves a mess, whereas moi..... .

I had a good chuckle about all these, there are so many things my husband does that annoy me, I think he does them on purpose. Worst thing is reading out stories from a newspaper whilst I'm reading myself!

My mother used to say it was hard living with perfection as my father was organised (and organised everyone else) to the nth degree. A place for everything and everything in its place, he even used to separate out the halves of dry roasted peanuts from the whole ones. Still not sure if it was his forces background or OCD!!
