The Daft Things You Do

Oh dear! I've blanked the daft things I know I've done (and said!) from my mind. Too painful to remember

I live in a soggy boggy place so I tend to carry around a "sit-opun-ery".

Is it a black plastic "sit-upon-ery"? thatbags?

It's usually this sheepskin effort with a waterproof back and sometimes it's a piece of packing from an insulated box.

That looks very useful and comfy thatbags, and it would be super to take with you on longer walks. Though it would have taken some careful thought in my case - and if I'd thought about it at all I wouldn't have sat down on a soaking wet mat in the first instance.

I bought my brother in law a folding cushion which he carries to football matches and other venues, it is great for preventing cold and damp penetrating the clothing.

According to my husband I'm always doing daft things.......like marrying him? Lol!

Thatbags, I have something like that I use as a kneeler in the garden. It is made of 4 seat pads encased in an old Next carrier bag. Very soft but it does issue a fart sound every time I kneel down on it. (Definitely the kneeler and not me!)

Oh dear rosieroe, I bet that felt horrible when you sat down on that wet mat..ugh. i find a little roll of bubblewrap in my bag is handy, it is light, rolls up small, and has the added fun of popping a bit when you sit on it

A daft thing I did last night: It was very hot so we decided to have a cold dinner. Pork Pie, Coleslaw, and I made some Potato Salad. Hubby was sitting in the kitchen chair, and I was about to make the Potato salad, but decided to feed the dog first. So I am chatting away, and scraping the Dog's dinner into our lovely china bowl which was ready for the salad.Dog looked slightly worried and confused, Hubby says " I know we are having an easy dinner tonight, but I don't fancy Chappie and Rice"

That's too funny for words.

I'd get worried if your hubby's nose gets cold and wet and he starts sitting up and begging Ilrina. ? ?. As for the mat - I didn't notice the wet when I sat down, it was only when I stood up again! Yuck.

Many years ago I was in the green room with a coffee in my left hand and someone asked me the time......coffee all over my shoes...

Disgruntled , little bit like that old ad with joan Collins and leonard Rossiter on the plane , only he hit the recline button on the chair and tipped the drink all over the place

The other evening I got home from work and couldn't unlock the back door. I jiggled the keys, and the door, but to no avail. Was getting upset so rang DH to find out how long he would be. Then rang SIL and asked him to bring the spare key when he brought DGC to ours. He arrived, stuck key in door, unlocked door. I had tried three or four times while waiting. Next morning went out, and locked the door. That's when I realised I had been trying to lock the door instead of unlocking it!!!

Oh disgruntled, I thought I was the only one daft enough to do that! I've also stood on a rake, just like the idiot clowns, didn't half hurt my head.

My mum did a hand washing without removing her watch and to dry it she gave it a quick rub with the tea towel and put in the microwave (don't ask!)....result was a broken watch and broken microwave.

This is funny and now I won't go to bed thinking of past anniversaries (a different thread). Thanks for the belly laugh.

Was there an explosion inside the microwave Linsco56? I'm assuming there was a battery in the watch. She'll not try that again will she. Feeling as if I should show some sympathy here but can't help but laugh at the very thought of the chaos when the bang went off. ?

A friend's mother, when in what turned out to be the early stages of dementia, cooked/burnt socks in the microwave and put sausage rolls in the washing machine.

A couple of things - one, as usual I couldn't find my specs, so finally decided I'd have to use my spares.
Tried to put them on.... the old ones were still on my nose!
The other one - Rosieroereminded me of it. I actually went out shopping still in my slippers a few weeks ago. We have to drive to the shops so I didn't notice until I got there.
Actually it didn't really matter because quite a few of the oldies here go shopping in their slippers. Especially in the mornings it's mostly retired people, and many are well into their 80s or 90s so entitled to wear what they want.

I don't think there was an explosion, but I wasn't there. She said it was like lightening flashes inside the microwave. The sad part was her watch was gold cocktail one given to her by my dad when I was born.

When my brother was born the following year he gave her a pair of slippers and when my youngest brother was born a few years later he bought her a box of licorice allsorts....she said it wasn't worth her while having any more!
