Site keeps logging me out!

Every time I move away from GN I'm logged out despite ticking the keep me logged in box! Is it me or the site? All suggestions gratefully received as getting fed up re-entering my details all the time.

Happening to me too. I do sometimes/often turn off gransnet, but usually I dont have to actually login again more than say once a day.
Now realised, I am having to login every time like you are.
[I dont tick the keep me logged in box]

Sorry about that KateK - we'll flag it up with tech, but they may not be able to fix it until Monday unfortunately.

Obieone that sounds quite normal - unless you tick the 'keep me logged in' box, you will need to log in every time you return to the site.

I dont have to normally. Only about the once a day as I said.
But never mind. I expect it will sort itself out,or I will have to tick the box.

Hi KateK - if you see this, could you check and let us know whether your Safari window defaults to private browsing? Apparently we've had a few problems with users on private browsing being logged out automatically.

Why are you NOT ticking the box, Obieone ? That is the only way you will not be logged out when you leave the GN website.

It won't sort itself out. You will have to sort it out by telling it what you want.

If you tick the box, you will only have to log in once. If you don't, you will have to log in each time you leave. The option is there for you to use.

It sort of seems to muck my computer up. So rather than that, I prefer to log in once or twice a day. I prefer that to the alternative.

It is a bit of a pain, but no biggie really.

Doesn't appear to be its default Lucy....am cautiously optimistic as it seems to be ok today! Will let you know if it shuts me out again. Thanks.

oh, it's just happened to me! Can't get in usual way, managed to open this thread by clicking bar at top of page, but only a few threads there! Why??

I'm always having to log in to Gransnet and I tick the box - it hasn't always been like that. - help!

I only have to log back in if I've cleared my browsing history. So it's probably something to do with that as LucyGransnet said.

Box ticked on the iPad but it logs me out every time. It is set on private browsing so guess that's the problem. iMac and phone keep me logged in unless I log out. I don't find it a particular bother to log in, so not overly fussed smile.

I never have a problem with GN but I have one particular local website that does it to me all the time even though the box is ticked to keep me signed in. It only happens on my iPad though not my laptop
