I feel so cross.

My OH was scammed out of a lot of money a year or so ago and we were warned at the time that there would probably be a follow-up attempt by the scammers. I now answer all the phone calls because I can be quite ruthless whereas my OH is too polite and thinks the best of everyone, even rogues. Anyway, he was called by a lawyer who wanted to buy some shares that OH owns for a large sum of money, and I became suspicious( as I do ) and did some digging and found that this law firm didn't exist and this was probably the start of that scam attempt. I tried to report it to Action Fraud, was put on hold for an eternity, eventually got through and they took my number" in case you get cut off, we will ring you back",and after a few words from me, I was cut off. They didn't ring back. I went to their website to try to fill in an on-line report but it wasn't in a format where you could give details, so I tried the live-chat line. The agent just told me to ring the number again, so I did but was cut off again, so then she told me to fill in the (useless) form again, so at this point I gave up. Don't the authorities WANT to catch these scammers? I could give them phone numbers. addresses, names, but HOW? The local police don't want to know --- they were unable to deal with the original scam and passed us on to Action Fraud. I feel really cross and frustrated!!!
