Some months back I wrote to say our elder GS who was coming up for 5 then was very challenging and had constant meltdowns, screaming and general bad behaviour. His parents were thinking about bringing in professional help.
Well he started school last September and his very firm teacher said he was emotionally immature but would grow out of it.
We have just looked after him and his younger brother for 3 long tiring days whilst his parents had a break in Amsterdam.
I am happy to report he was a delight. He was helpful, tolerant of his bro and generally good to have around. Phew, what a relief.
Now for the bad news. His 3 year old brother who has always been the easiest of children to handle has turned into a little tyrant. He has thrown books around, dismantled all the cushions on the settee. Refused his supper, screamed when we took the IPad off him after he was allowed as a treat to watch a programme. Refused his medicine. Said NO every other word and generally had been a pain in the backside. I think we are experiencing the 'traumatic threes'.
