That was very sudden was it not? RIP Terry.

There is another thread BTW called sad

ninathenana Sun 31-Jan-16 09:46:29

He pulled out of Children in Need due to ill health. Sad news

Indinana Sun 31-Jan-16 09:48:12

Yes, it seems as if it was. His family obviously wanted to keep his illness quiet. I had such a lot of time for that man. He made me laugh every morning on the way to work and I was so sorry when his long reign on the Radio 2 breakfast show came to an end. My drive to work was never the same after that sad
RIP Sir Tel, you will be missed.

Sorry, didn't know that. I guess if that's the thread title it wouldn't exactly have been obvious what it was about and that's why I didn't notice it.

Oh how sad. Sir Terry will be a miss. Children in Need will not be the same without him. I was an avid listener to his radio 2 show in the seventies and eighties.sad

I have posted on the 'other ' thread !

JanT8 Sun 31-Jan-16 10:46:38

I started my own thread; sorry I missed this one! Yes, very sad news, like many others I always listened to him on my way to work. He always made me laugh; not a bad way to start the day!
RIP Terry.

R.I.P. Terry, my drive to work companion. Pauly Walters and Terry will giggle together again.

Anya Sun 31-Jan-16 11:17:47

Sorry to hear he's died but not a fan,

ninathenana Sun 31-Jan-16 11:53:14

Three threads here I wonder how many on FB.
I did like Terry.............sad

WilmaKnickersfit Sun 31-Jan-16 12:07:53

I liked him too and it will be strange to think he's not around any more. The reason given for not being well enough to do Children in Need was to do with his back, so maybe his short battle with cancer stems from then. My user name comes from his radio show.

Thinking about it now, if I had to choose my all time favourite radio presenter it would be Terry. Loved his TV show too. I will miss him. sad

Wilma I remember one of the TOGS who contributed to the show was Wilma - Wilmaknickersfit. Was that you?

WilmaKnickersfit Sun 31-Jan-16 12:27:46

No, I just pinched the name. I hadn't heard it being used for ages and there was no mention on the TOG website, so I thought it would be safe to use it.

Bellanonna Sun 31-Jan-16 12:33:31

I too posted on the other thread. Gutted when I heard the news. I didn't know he was ill. RIP Terry Wogan

Floradora9 Sun 31-Jan-16 13:53:12

never felt quite the same about him when I read that he charged a fee to do Children in Need.

Marmark1 Sun 31-Jan-16 16:43:17

Liked him a lot,he brightened up many a dark morning for me.Some new presenters today, are just down right annoying.
