Did anyone else find the wedding rings in the husband's ashes a bit odd?

Ana Mon 23-Nov-15 11:30:28

Yes! Why wouldn't she have carried on wearing hers?

And that tiny box would only have held a fraction of the husband's ashes...

Oooo yes very strange. Loved the man who hit the jackpot with JFKs jacket - ironically laughing he wouldn't sell it and then said 'Yes I would' don't blame him £200K for an old jacket - don't care who wore it - that would be gone!!

I wondered why she didn't wear it either. Maybe the little box is the 'going out' box as she seemed quite happy to take it out with her

Bet the presenter got a shock on meeting the dear departed.

Probably fed up with him having a Wellington room and a Nelson room and spending £7k on a letter. Does anyone remember the family who were brought up in penury while the father bought beautiful silver they knew nothing about? When he died they discovered his hoard and took it to the roadshow.

I felt like someone on Gogglebox when that box was opened. Nearly jumped out of my seat. The lady obviously gets some comfort from carrying it around.

But to be poking around in it to arrange the rings....!! All a bit strange. Oh, just had a really bad thought-what if the wind had got up? Doesn't bear thinking about.

The box wasn't even valuable or interesting either, was it? It's as though the only reason she brought it along was to display the contents.

Takes all sorts, I suppose...

That's what my Grandma always used to say Ana also " it wouldn't do for us all to be the same would it?" Still and all, I found her a bit odd, who carries around the dear departed's ashes?
After watching Antiques Roadshow I always look round the house thinking, what can I sell, and the answer always comes back....nothing!

I do the same roses and the answer is always the same
