Wobbly Camera TV

Yes, I also mentioned it on here a while ago. It drives me mad! I have had to avoid several otherwise good programmes recently - very annoying.

I hate this method of filming, as I also suffer from vertigo (BPPV). I remember nearly vomiting at the beginning of 'Mama Mia' in the cinema, where I was sitting right at the front with GCs. I also have to adopt the eyes closed method of watching TV, very annoying!

I have the same problem with wobbly film etc. It makes me feel dizzy very quickly.

While I loved the musical, you can be excused vomiting at the film version of Mamma Mia any day.

It's a gimmicky technique, but as in so many things, just because they can doesn't necessarily mean that they should use it.

The BBC is probably trying to save our money instead of employing decent, professional camerapersons and using good equipment to produce good quality film.
How else are they going to pay the huge salaries of the 'stars' and top executives?

However, if they are reporting from a war zone or trouble spot I can understand it as they are probably trying to keep alert ready to move away from danger as speedily as possible. I certainly would not like to be reporting from there.

We went to see a 3d film at the cinema and I didn't enjoy it at all, I felt very queasy.
(I didn't like the film much anyway!)

I hate all this over-production. There are several programmes that have the irritating habit of making people suddenly walk faster or backwards - as if this adds anything to the content.

As someone who gets migraine watching scenes from moving cars/trains I am acutely aware of how this device is used in so many programmes, even where you would imagine there would be no need for it. If you watch Great Railway Journeys, it is reasonable to expect it, But Long Lost Family, Who do you think You Are? and endless others do it all the time. I have to put my hand in front of my eyes and peek between my fingers to see when it has stopped.

Do you think it's an age thing?

We tried to watched the first Prime Suspect recently, which was made in 1991 but I don't remember it being so wobbly when I saw it the first time.

The BBC are asking for our views on their on-line survey, perhaps if enough of us let them know about the ill effects of bad camera work they will stop?

The other thing I sometimes hear on the radio is a sort of vibrating under tone/?tune that I think is supposed to menacing. That makes me feel peculiar.
