My 3 year old GS is standing at the top of the stairs, using the round bannister end as a mic, stamping his foot and singing American Pie - complete with "the good old boys drinking whiskey and rye" and the cool rock star facial grimaces - it is quite hysterical! 
Oh - he's now on "We will we will rock you!"
I love it when they do that, luckygirl. My youngest DS took part in a ukelele concert when he was seven. He was already learning to play the guitar and managed to cope with the 'uncool' look of the uke until the finale when he shoved one foot forward and started headbanging. I'm only surprised he didn't shout, 'THANK YOOOOOOOO' during the applause 
My almost 7 year old DGD regaled me with a word perfect rendition of Paradise by the Dashboard Light. Which was lovely so long as she didn't understand it!!
