It's been a lovely summers day here in N. Staffs. Warm sunshine, just how August should be.
We went out for lunch with friends to a canal side pub, good food and excellent company. That's as close as we get to water here, lots of narrow boats so almost as good as the sea!
Maybe Mick will be back soon to start the 'good morning' thread.

Narrow boats here too - at the back of my garden smile Lovely day here in the West Midlands. Went to lunch with two lovely friends today and DH and I will be wandering down to our local in a short while to make the most of the evening sunshine. Hope Mick is OK.

Lovely day here with 2 year old GD in our care - splashing in paddling pool, playing in pop-up tent (if only I could work out how to pop it down!) and making cakes. Very tiring but lots of fun.

It's lovely along the canal at the moment and there are lots of blackberries to pick. Was walking there yesterday with my dog and a man on a boat waved to me, picked up his dog and put her on the roof; she was identical to mine [even the same age]. Tonight I have several butterflies on the outside of my house...I've never seen that before. Maybe one of them is the one that hibernates in my utility room. I so want to make the most of summer; it's been such a good one.

No canals, but we enjoyed an afternoon in the sunshine at Totnes, ending up by the river watching the boats while we had a cuppa in the lovely riverside cafe on Steamer Quay.
It's been beautiful all day - just hope it continues for a while. We shall be going blackberrying soon as I want to make some more jam. Last year I made some from the cultivated berries in my DS's garden - won't be bothering again, as the flavour is nothing like the wild ones.

Gorgeous warm, sunny day in the NE. Met an old friend for lunch, which lasted all afternoon, it was great to catch up.

Warm but overcast day here in Colchester. Spent a nice day with baby grandson.

Very nervous for some reason. DD arriving unexpectedly but without the DGCs. It's been beautiful here but the garden is past it's best.

Lovely day here, spent some time in the garden. DS is taking children on holiday and leaving DIL at home, we are roped in to lighten the load. I have exactly one week to get organised but five of those days I am working at my other home. I thought I would get a rest when school starts but no, first day back is inset day.

A beautiful day here, the sun shone and we had a lovely, and lively, day on the river with DD1, DSiL, two energetic DGDs, one grumpy old spaniel and one lively spaniel pup! Picnicked, walked, fed the ducks and bought ice cream from the ice cream boat.
