Having got rid of one lot of visitors yesterday and preparing for another onslaught on Friday - only overnight thank heavens - I am sitting surrounded by lists and trying to get organised for the family who are coming for 5 days at Christmas.
I've ordered the turkey and I've been stocking up for weeks with non-perishables, but there is no getting around the shopping for all the fresh dairy, fruit, veg, bread and so on. These are items I like to choose myself so online or ordering from a local shop isn't for me.
The BBC claims that 36 per cent of people plan to do a big shop on Monday, some even taking the day off work. Am I mad to think of setting my alarm clock for 6 am on Tuesday and going then?
