Rats. That would be a 'no' then.

You weren't alone Icyalittle. I was awake for several hours during the night feeling anxious. Couldn't go online as GS sleeping in the computer room.

Instead I did a few yoga stretches, took a couple of herbal sleeping aid tablets and then listened to a relaxation tape.

Went back to sleep. I hope you did eventually.

Good morning Icyalittle and Petallus. I am always awake early too but try not to go on this site too early as it is becoming an obsession. Shall we have tea together ( I am on my third) What are you both going to do today?

Hello petallus and littleflo, it is good to know there are others out there even if you weren't on line when I was. Managed to get to sleep at 5am, before alarm went at 7. petallus I hope you are feeling less anxious, and managed to do something today that was worthwhile and kept you busy mentally. littleflo I definitely could have done with the tea you kindly offered, but I think my jaw was so tense with anxiety that I wouldn't have been able to swallow. Maybe I will invest in a relaxation tape, or an app. I am thinking of trying mindfulness - is it worth while?

Hi Icyalittle. So sorry you are feeling tense. I listen to stories when I can't sleep. My son bought me an I pod last year. I am no good at any relaxation techniques, but I suppose horses for courses. I did invest in some tempura pillows, I put one under my back to prop me up and I have slept better since I have had it.

Good positive ideas, thank you. I've got family problems happening, so anything that may stop my mind churning sounds helpful. WHY don't we come equipped with an off switch?

Hi icyalittle Know the feeling of constant worrying about family matters!!

What I do and works every time hinking about somethingis just relax, lay comfortable let a gasp of air out then just concentrate ONLY on my breathing in and out--meditation-

I also count down from 100 which also helps me

I also try thinking about something funny to take the anxiety away and finally when I can not sleep I go downstairs and sleep on the couch with the telly on very low.

Hope one of the things I have mentioned helps you smile

I am wide awake tonight. On Saturday I travelled from Brussels to Kent but felt very unwell, arrived at hotel, climbed on bed and slept foe 3 hours. DH woke me to have some dinner but I went straight back to bed afterwards. We drove the five hours home today and I dozed in the car, I am not tired and sleep will be difficult tonight.

tcherry your suggestions very helpful. Still spent a long time awake, but avoided being up for most of the night. Good morning harrigran I hope you are feeling better today. Did you get any sleep?
