Good morning Michael and everyone.

Absolutely lashing down here on the North East Coast. The sea and sky are joined up in one grey mass. It was such a lovely day yesterday too.

Don't hold out too much hope for the bank holiday either. I have my three grandchildren from Saturday until Wednesday night, we are going caravanning so I do hope we get at least a glimpse of sunshine at some point.

Have a good Thursday everyone.

Good morning from drizzly Cheshire.

Mornin' All

It's not raining here at present but the clouds are scudding over very fast. I didn't think gales had been forecast. DH left his new wheelbarrow sitting in the middle of the lawn last night - and there's nearly 4inches of water it in!

Helping to set up for a flower festival today - I wonder how close to the church door I'll be able to park!

Have a happy day everyone.

Raining steadily in this part of Cheshire. Feels thundery.

Rain here in Derbyshire. I could do without it as I'm moving out of my holiday cottage today and into a house sit in Manchester for a while. I might be getting used to my itinerant life but it would be good to have a home again.

Morning all.
Sunny in N. Kent, although we had rain overnight. DH off to the allotment so hopefully they've got it right and we don't get the rain until p.m.

Good morning to you all, it is a 'not sure' sort of morning here, but we had rain overnight, and it is forecast for this afternoon. Unfortunately my new specs were absolutely no use for playing bowls yesterday! Enjoy your days.

Morning,
Doesn't seem to have made its mind up here..... bit like me really, still ploughing thro mountains of clothes deciding which to keep and which to donate! hmm I really don't need THAT many blush

Good luck with your temporary move, Sewsilver it's raining slightly here, but the garden is fresh and the air feels clean and cool. Everything that's growing has had a good watering. I thought I'd seen the last three Great Tits fledge 36 hours ago, but there's more emerging this morning and the parents are still going in with food.

The rain has passed in East Sussex. I don't think we had as much as forecast last night. Grey and windy here at the moment and everything is drying up nicely.
Charity volunteering this pm. Before I start on the baking/ housecleaning prior to BH invasion.

Good morning everyone, and its dull and grey here in Inverness-shire. Yesterday was a day of raining stair rods for about 15 hours. Today I think is going to be much the same. Going to the gym to do a kettle bell class!! Havent done it before but am assured its a good workout. Will post later to reveal how I get on. Went to bodypump on Monday, it was really good, but boy was I stiff afterwards.
Hope it stays dry for you Sewsilver, good luck with the move.

The sun is peeping through a thick mass of grey clouds so fingers crossed it establishes itself. We had a good downpour during the night and my sweet peas have grown again - can't wait for the flowers to appear.

I was up before 5am needing the loo then of course was wide awake so it will feel a long day! DGS coming for tea and DH is then taking him to his swimming lesson. He is such a dear, sweet boy - nearly 9 and the baby of our family.

Happy days everyone. sunshine

Good morning, it's raining. I am off to look after GC for the day. Got all the washing and ironing done yesterday while the weather was lovely.

Lona Thu 22-May-14 09:29:13

Non stop rain here for the last few hours sad
I'm having an eye test at lunch time hmm I can feel my wallet emptying already!

Good morning all!

It poured all night here in North Leicestershire but the sun is out at the moment!

I had an early start having to pick up DS1 and then drive through the rush hour to one of the hospitals in Leicester for 9.30. He is having botox in his arm and, having just looked in the mirror, I'm wondering if they will take pity on my face while we are here grin

After that, I am going out for lunch with all three DD, DS1 and 4 DGC - I can't decide whether that will be fun or far too exhausting!

Enjoy your days everyone and don't forget to vote sunshine

Rain here too last night, thank heavens. It was getting pretty bad and the soil was like dust.

I am sitting here waiting for my computer to go off. My village is having its electricity supply 'upgraded' (we had a lot of power cuts last winter) and I thought I would go out - then read further down the letter and saw that we have no access due to vans and equipment. We should have lost power an hour ago, so being on here is a small indulgence before I am cut off from the outside world, as I can't even get mobile reception here.

I might even have to give in and do some weeding and housework!

suebailey1 Thu 22-May-14 12:21:48

Lots of rain overnight woke us up at 5am so feeling a bit groggy now. Shall I put the washing out not sure- grey clouds keep coming and going. decide when I get back from casting my vote.

rosesarered Thu 22-May-14 12:31:28

Raining here too and I just heard thunder. The garden and pots needed the rain, but I didn't, as I am walking to cast my vote in half an hour.Hope it clears away for the Bank Holiday, as it will ruin peoples plans [though Bank Holiday usually does mean rain, hmmmn.]
