A bit late mentioning this but it is a story that deserves mentioning IMHO.

There is so much spoken of re poor service in the NHS, Lord knows we have all had good and bad service within our own circumstances. So isn't it nice to see so much respect was given to Dr. Richard Hughes who is retiring from his position as a doctor in Portsmouth after serving his patient's for 32 years.

The photos of his patients lining up around the block, taking upto 4 hours to see him to simply say thank you and wish him well was wonderful to see. As his receptionist is reported to have said " Richard was completely humbled by the turnout but it came as no surprise to the other staff". What a lovely Doctor the folk of Portsmouth were lucky to have had.

It is all too easy to keep focusing on the negative side to the NHS, I admit I have done it too, but we should be reminded that there are some wonderful people out there doing their job so well on our behalf whatever that role may be.

Happy retirement Dr. Hughes, you deserve it.

Wonderful, heartwarming story, but (being rather negative here, I know) sadly can't see to many of these events in the future sad

pogs all you have to do to make a link is copy it, and paste it into the message.

You can copy anything by selecting it, then go CTRL C, click your cursor (click in) where you want to put the link and hit CTRL V.

GNHQ have now made it so that links automatically are " live" when added to a message.

If it is an iPad , you go to the page you want to link to, then press the square icon to the left of the address bar. This is at the top of your page. Pressing the square with an arrow on the top will give you options. Select Copy. Then go to your Gransnet message box and press screen. Paste should appear. Press Paste and link should appear in your message. Hope this works for you POGS.
