Taking tablets whilst out

(37 Posts)

I often, whilst I am out, need to take a tablet quickly. Although I carry a children's plastic bottle with me most places, so I have some water to wash the tablet down, I would really prefer some nice little flask or the like, but don't want to look as if I am slurping down vodka during the day !

Any suggestions ?

I've got a sort of sports "bladder" that is flat until you fill it with water - does that make sense? It has pretty polka dots all over it.

Just an ordinary bottle of water would do me - why do you need a children's bottle? confused

It is sort of like this, only prettier smile and it only takes 750ml. Cause I don't want it to be too heavy either.

What looks like a bottle of water could actually contain VODKA grin

Ana Fri 16-May-14 20:21:13

So...? grin

Agus Fri 16-May-14 20:35:53

None of my business grin

I have to take mine after a meal so always ask for a glass of tap water when ordering lunch. Otherwise I would probably carry a small bottle of water with me.

rosequartz Fri 16-May-14 20:37:32

Can't drink vodka.. g&t?

Agus Fri 16-May-14 20:39:13

Whatever turns you on Rose grin

rosequartz Fri 16-May-14 20:45:12

These are pricey, but pretty and functional:

Personally I'm still re-using the bottle from some water I bought in Greece last year. grin

Twelve quid for a water bottle! You've got to be joking! Please tell me one's water bottle doesn't need to be "stylish". Like ga, I just use any old thing. So long as it slots into a special end pocket of my bag, it'll do. What it looks like has never, ever crossed my mind. Well, I suppose it has – it looks like a cheap plastic water bottle. Why would I need it to look like anything else?

If I were you, nankate, I'd just get a whisky flask and have done with it. Why does it matter if people think you're swigging vodka? Let them think what they like. [swigemoticon] smile

The one I have cost a pound, and I bought it because I can't resist anything that has a carbinier (sp?) that clips on to my belt. It's for when I go walking.

You're right of course Bags, in that there can be vodka in anything, anyway!

Aka Sat 17-May-14 08:10:31

I don't get this at all.

thatbags Sat 17-May-14 08:12:28

gknot, we are soul mates! I love carabinas too!!

Grannyknot Sat 17-May-14 08:29:17

wink bags my liking borders on a fetish grin.

NanKate Sat 17-May-14 09:09:37

Thanks everyone for your great suggestions.

Call me pretentious but I do like to buy matching things, or nice looking things, but I would never spend a lot of money so I am not completely daft Aka.

I don't know why I said Vodka coz I never drink it, so let's say my favourite tipple Bacardi.

Have a great weekend Gransnetters. smile

Actually nankate I thought it was trendy/stylish to use and ordinary water bottle hmm

NanKate Sat 17-May-14 09:57:36

Hi Jane have you heard the poem that goes something like when I get old I will wear purple ? Well I am like one of the sad old birds who wears very bright colours and things I never dared do until I got into my 60s.

So what I am coming round to saying is that if I could get a water bottle in a stylish lilac or with flowers on it I would be very pleased. My plastic children's one is purple, but I want something which looks a bit nicer.

Soutra Sat 17-May-14 10:06:07

I think an empty vodka flask filled with water would do rather well ! Adds to the bag lady image quite nicely ! ! grin

janeainsworth Sat 17-May-14 10:10:51

TBh Nankate I've never understood the appeal of that poem.
"I shall sit down on the pavement when I'm tired
And gobble up samples in shops"
"And pick flowers in other people's gardens
And learn to spit."
"You can wear terrible shirts and grow more fat
And eat three pounds of sausages at a go"

Call me po-faced, but it's not quite where I want to be in 10, 15 or 20 years' time.
Like Aka, I don't get it.

annodomini Sat 17-May-14 10:18:49

And I didn't need to grow old to wear purple - though I do and I also wear turquoise, sky blue, pink and may even venture into lime green if I'm feeling daring... grin
